Poetry - Dawn

A poem by Simon N.
I awake when dawn arrives.
The solitary bird spreads his wings to catch the early light.
A sudden breeze rustles callow leaves.
The still sleeping trees are awash in morning's dew.

The road of life offers a hundred paths.
Why have I taken the same path?
Cardinals chirp as fast as my hair turning gray.
The risen sun ends dawn impetuously.

Time is clockwork yet blind.
Dreams are beautiful yet fleeting.
