America's Pastime

Invented by the founding fathers of the United States, baseball has remained the country’s most important sport throughout its lifetime. Although I don't dislike it, I do admit to sleeping through most of the baseball games I watch. Needless to say, baseball is not exactly the most exciting sport to watch. But that’s exactly what makes going to a baseball game an exciting and thrilling experience.

Over the years, people have invented all sorts of things to keep them occupied, while patiently waiting for a something magical to happen on the field. Some of the more interesting distractions include people singing fans’ favorite “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”, people throwing beer at each other, and people scrambling for home run balls (with scars to show for.) If you do not know what it means to be an American, you’ll surely know after attending a baseball game.
